Ballina prevail in Norm Ryder

THE Ballina I.C. team played Souths Magpies for the Norm Ryder Shield at Arthur Park last weekend and came away with a four-run win.

Souths batted first, finishing their innings with 9-162 off 30 overs.

Ballina had a shaky start with the bat and lost four early wickets.

But despite accurate bowling and excellent fielding by Souths, Ballina's resolute middle-order batsman (T Anderson 40 ret., P Wilde 30 n.o.) prevailed.

Ballina finished the match at 7-166 in the 26th over.
