Ballina out of touch

To whom it may concern,

I am interested as in why the Ballina Shire Council does not have any links to social media and the like example Facebook/Twitter. Many NSW Councils have got instant social media sites that are quite interesting and feel like the public is actually in touch with the Council and not ostracised with regards to updates and councillors activities.

A perfect example is Jenny McDowell Mayor of Lismore Council- She is always interactive with her constituents and more than happy to SHOW she is out and about doing what the ratepayers have engaged her to undertake - I bet if a survey was held now - no one would even know the Mayor of Ballina. I think its high time that those elected started to show some type of interaction with the Ballina Community - or at least try and keep up to date with the times.? Or are they afraid that nothing they are doing or achieving within the community is noteworthy?..
