Ballina man arrested and charged over intimidation incident

A 36-year-old Ballina man has been charged over an incident in Ballina earlier this month.

Police said at 2.45pm on June 10 the victim was at his workplace address in Ballina when he was approached by two males.

The males accused the victim of property theft, upon denial of these allegations one of the males produced a set of "knuckle dusters" and made threats to the victim.

The victim managed to activate his cell phone and capture footage of the two males as they fled the scene in a 1994 Toyota Corolla sedan registration number ZBK475.

This vehicle has not been located and the second male is yet to be identified. 

The 36-year-old man was arrested and charged for the offences of demanding property with menace, armed with intent to commit an indictable offence and two counts of Intimidation.

He was bail refused to appear at Ballina Local Court on July 23.
