Ballina growing 1.3% per year
THE population of Ballina has increased by an average of 1.3% every year for five years, according to new figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
With a current population of 42,922, the number of people living in the shire has increased by 6.5% between 2006 and 2011.
It is a similar story with other local government areas on the Northern Rivers.
Byron's population has also increased by an average of 1.3% each year, and Tweed's population has increased by an average of 1.7% in the same period.
