Bail varied for wife of alleged Murwillumbah murderer

THE wife of a Murwillumbah man who allegedly murdered his father remains free on bail and has had her bail varied to let her visit her husband in prison.

Michael Martin Jnr, Jessica Fallon and Candace Martin appeared in Lismore Local Court today charged over the murder of 46-year-old Michael Martin Snr at his unit in Quarry Rd, South Murwillumbah, on June 13, 2014.

The victim's son and Fallon appeared via audio visual link from prison, while Martin appeared in person.

Martin's solicitor Cameron Bell applied to have her bail conditions varied so she could contact family and not have to report to police so frequently.

Her bail conditions were varied to reduce her reporting days to Monday, Wednesday and Friday only.

Martin's curfew was rescinded and she was granted permission to have contact with her husband, but only in regards to their children.

She was also granted unlimited contact with her father Des Owen.

Martin Jnr and Fallon did not apply for bail and were remanded in custody.

The trio's matters were adjourned for a date in February.
