Baby airlifted to Brisbane

THE RACQ CareFlight rescue helicopter was tasked to Lismore this afternoon to airlift a three week old baby girl suffering respiratory problems.

RACQ CareFlight Air Crewman Leigh Ainsley said the chopper picked up a pediatric team from Royal Brisbane Hospital to take to Lismore to treat the child.

“Our team and the pediatric team flew to Lismore to retrieve the baby. We then airlifted her back to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for specialist treatment for her particular respiratory condition,” he said.

“She was in a stable condition,” he said.
