Awesome Year 5!

Year 5 at St. Brigid’s Primary School Kyogle this week were treated to a very ‘awesome’ guest, Mr. David Ogg. This is David’s second visit to the school, having spent a fantastic day with Year 6 earlier in the year.
David was the Leader of Visual Arts at St. John Paul College Coffs Harbour for many years, is now retired and has over 45 years’ experience in the fields of the Arts and Scripture. He spent the day with Year 5 presenting an ‘Art Matters - Visual Arts Workshop.’
The day gave the students the chance to enhance not only their creative abilities but to gain spiritual development through art. The workshop covered a variety of art skills and techniques such as silkscreen printing, drawing and pen and ink drawing extensions. Each session was designed to build confidence and understanding of the various approaches and ways of seeing and responding to the students’ world through the use of Visual Arts.
Scripture was embedded throughout the day along the theme of ‘I am fearfully and wonderfully made’ with the message to the students all day was that ‘they were awesome’ and so was Mr Ogg!
Awesomeness all round!
