Only a week left for musos to enter 2014 Dolphin Awards
ENTRIES are open for the region's annual iconic music night, the 2014 NCEIA Dolphin Awards.
The Dolphin Awards celebrate the music and entertainment industry on the North Coast, with 20 different music categories and awards.
The Dolphin Awards are open to all original music created by unsigned musicians in the (02) 66 area code.
All an entrant needs to do before entering their song/s is to prepare an MP3 that is no larger than 8MB of their original song and then head to the website to do the rest.
Entries close on October 23 - one week from today.
Some past winners are Diana Anaid, Grinspoon, Dirt Girl, Jim Kelly and last year's Album of the Year winners Hussy Hicks.
The judges for 2014 include Kirk Pengilly (INXS), Paul Pilsneniks (studios 301), Mark Gable (Choirboys), Alex Smith (Moving Pictures), Ciaran Gribbin (INXS) and Marcus Schintler (Weddings Parties Anything).
The NCEIA Dolphin Awards night will be held on December 2 at the Ballina RSL.
There will be an array of local artists playing on the night including Marshal Okell (who won Male Vocal and the Blues section at last year's Dolphin Awards), Parkside Orchestra (this year's state winners of the Uni Band Competition) and Gabriel and Cecilia from The Voice Australia.
