Awards for Centrelink

A CONGRATULATORY mood fell on Lismore's Centrelink office yesterday as Janelle Saffin presented staff with Human Services Exemplary Service Awards for their work at the community coalface.

Two Centrelink and one Child Service Agency staff were nominated by the Federal Member for Page for outstanding and exemplary service to the community and to her office.

Ms Saffin said it was her great pleasure to present the award to Jason Drew, team leader at Lismore Centrelink.

“Jason deals with constituent inquiries or issues which most of the time can be worked out,” Ms Saffin said.

Centrelink's Andrew Lorimer, who is set to receive his award at his office at Biggara Waters on the Gold Coast, was also congratulated by Ms Saffin.

“Andrew was a great support as the Centrelink information person at income support forums held across the region,” she said.

“But last and certainly not least, Bronwyn Saunders from Ballina CSA, who liaises on a weekly basis about information, advice and support for the electorate. Bronwyn offers a service above and beyond and, as with Jason, may deal or speak with everyone in an explanatory capacity.”

They all provided service beyond the call of duty, Ms Saffin said.

“Thank you for your knowledge and help to the community and to us, all with a smile,” she said.
