Mark keeps customers satisfied
OVER the years, March 1 has been a very lucky day for Mark and Sarah Frost, owners of Advanced Automotive Solutions in South Lismore.
On March 1 this year Mr Frost won the Mercedes-Benz Rural Service Manager of the Year Award.
The award ranks their three-year- old business highest for customer satisfaction and service among all Mercedes-Benz dealerships across rural Australia.
On the same date in 2006 their son, Jett, was born and in 2002 Mark met Sarah, then a trainee physiotherapist at Brisbane hospital, when he was taken there following a near-fatal car crash.
Aside from meeting Sarah, who helped him along the road to recovery, the crash changed Mark's life. It was so severe he nearly lost his leg and it put an end to his kick boxing career.
Up until then he had been the Queensland and Australian muay thai champion.
"I wanted to get away from Brisbane and start a new life in the country so came to the Northern Rivers," he said.
In 2009, after working for other local mechanics, Mr Frost decided to take a risk and strike out on his own.
The Sunday before they were to open their business, Mercedes-Benz Australia called to ask if the Frosts were interested in being the authorised parts and service agent for the Northern Rivers.
They couldn't have asked a better man as Mr Frost is passionate about Mercedes-Benz.
"I have worked on most types of cars but nothing compares to a Mercedes-Benz," he said. "They are not just built, they are engineered.
Mr Frost's award probably comes as no surprise to his customers. They rated Advanced Automotive 99.8% for customer satisfaction, the highest in Australia.
"The award is recognition of all our hard work," said Mr Frost. "There are over 100 dealers and service centres in Australia, many of those have been in business much longer than us."
The team at Advanced Automotive Solutions services up to 30 cars per week at their spotless workshop in South Lismore.
Aside from boosting his team's efficiency, Mr Frost said the clean workshop speaks volumes about their work attitude.
"The way our workshop looks is an indication to our customers of the respect we have for ourselves and their cars," he said.
