Award for disabled and aged care

CHRISTOPHER Leach's passion for helping disabled or elderly people and their families has earned him an Australia Day Public Service Medal.

Mr Leach, of Mullumbimby, was honoured for his outstanding public service as the Northern Regional Director of Aging Disability and Home Care ADHC.

Responsible for the organisation's $80 million budget, Mr Leach ensured the more than 9000 ADHC received the level of care they needed.

A strong advocate for people living in rural and remote areas, Mr Leach took every opportunity to promote an equitable allocation of resources and access to services.
