A'ville in the pool

ALSTONVILLE High School has again proved to be strong for water polo players, with 22 from the school filling places in the girls and boys State Combined High Schools (NSWCHS) water polo in Sydney.

The girls team began their quest at Glenbrook last Tuesday, hoping to improve on last year’s fifth placing.

On Sunday, the boys side heads off to Woy Woy, with goalie, Ronan Cowie quietly confident of success.

“We have seven matches including against Sydney North who defeated us in last years final,” he said. “It’s probably better this time with their older players gone, but we can’t be complacent. Hunter is always a strong team to play but we have beaten them before; well just see how things work out.”
