Autumn tennis winners are all smiles after finals

THE Lismore and District Tennis Association autumn competition concluded last week with the finals in the three divisions played at East Lismore Tennis Club.

Winning teams:

Division 1: Franey (Russell Franey, Mark Anderson, Mick Drew) over Kay (Aniba Kay, Pete Montgomery, Gary Gear)

Division 2: Miller (Mark Miller, Jim Hartley, Mere Aoake, Gwen Nugent) over Kerr (Dianne Kerr, Ryan Anderson, Trish Spillane, Jane McRae)

Division 3: Denmeade (Paul Denmeade, Mark Turner, Jane Plint, Heather Cole) over Davis (Scott Davis, John Giles, Denise Catlin, Tehan Wall)

Association secretary Naomi Doncaster said it was refreshing to see some new faces in the competition.

Some of the winning players in the finals were returning after time away.

In Division 1 Mick Drew found top form in the finals and Mark Turner was part of the winning team in Division 3.

Division 2 player Mere Aoake returned from injury to play well in the finals.
