Arrests over Coraki armed robberies

POLICE have arrested two teenagers in relation to two armed robberies at Coraki over the past week.

Richmond Local Area Command crime manager, Detective Inspector Greg Moore, said the juveniles aged 15 and 17 were arrested today by police at Walgett in central western NSW.

Det Insp Moore said the teenagers were currently being interviewed at Walgett police station for the armed robbery of the Coraki Bakery on Friday morning at about 4.18am, and the armed robbery and kidnapping of the owners of the Coraki Takeaway on Sunday morning.

He said it was anticipated that the juveniles will be charged with armed robbery offences.

Police are still hunting the perpetrators of armed robberies at the Southern Cross Credit Union at Casino yesterday, and The Station Hotel in Lismore last Thursday.
