Arrest made over Bonville shooting
POLICE have charged a second man over an armed robbery and shooting at Bonville earlier this year.
On Tuesday, February 28, two men, aged 25 and 35, attended Butlers Rd at Bonville to meet a man and purchase a quad bike and dirt bike around 10pm.
Police allege they were met by three men, armed with rifles, who threatened them and demanded cash.
During the incident one of the men was struck with the rifle before the armed men stole cash and fled in a white 1990 model Nissan Pintara.
The two men returned to their vehicle and gave chase following the Nissan towards Glenniffer Rd where a number of shots were fired at their vehicle.
The stolen Nissan Pintara was later located in Gleniffer Rd and seized by police for forensic examination.
After a lengthy investigation and the earlier arrest of a man in Armidale, police yesterday arrested a 21-year-old man at Coffs Harbour Police Station.
He was charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon, discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and being carried in conveyance.
The man has been refused bail and will appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court tomorrow.
Police arrested and charged the first alleged offender in May this year.
Investigations are continuing by Strike Force Ballumbir to find the third person involved.
