Armistead, Seiffert make deadly pairing for Lismore
ALL-rounders Adam Armistead and Jared Seiffert paved the way for Lismore to advance in the McDonald's Country Shield cricket knockout.
Armistead scored 60 runs and was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3-29, against Ballina at Oakes Oval, Lismore, on Sunday in the third round of the competition.
Lismore won the toss and batted first but were in trouble at 6-53.
Armistead formed middle-order partnerships with Kale Hare (20) and Seiffert (44) to steady the ship.
Lismore was bowled out for 192 with 2.4 overs remaining.
It took them just 20.2 overs to skittle Ballina for 111.
Seiffert took 2-28 off seven overs, and Brendan Mitchell netted two scalps.
Armistead was a welcome addition to the side after missing the second-round win over Coffs Harbour Colts.
Seiffert was also strong in that game with an unbeaten 69 in the 22-run win.
Tweed will host Casino in the top-tier SCG Country Cup at Reg Dalton Oval, Kingscliff, on Sunday.
The next round is December 14 with the semi-finals and final at the end of the month.
