Are you the $2m mystery winner?
The winning $2 million ticket in Monday night's Lotto draw was sold at Higgins Newsagency in Casino, and by last night the cash still hadn't been claimed.
The unsolved mystery placed hopeful smiles on the faces of Casino's loyal Lotto players as they raced into Higgins Newsagency to check their crumpled tickets, and it sent imaginations racing as million-dollar shopping lists were debated in the town's streets.
Owners of the newsagency, Roslyn and Lyn Ward, believe it is the town's biggest Lotto win.
"There are a lot of people in Casino who think they could be a millionaire at the moment," Mrs Ward said.
The couple, who have owned the store for four years, were visiting their daughter near Brisbane when one of their staff received the message that the winning ticket was sold in their store.
"I just couldn't believe it when she called us. I was just all goose bumps," Mrs Ward said.
Mrs Ward said it was nice to know they would be able to give one lucky player a big 'yes, you have won' after handing out so many 'no's during the past four years.
"But we may never get to know the identity of the winner," she said. "Often players are unregistered because they don't want anyone to know when they do win."
Mrs Ward hoped the winner was a local.
However, with the Casino Show having just been held, she conceded the win may have gone to an out-of-towner
"We had a lot of visitors to Casino during the weekend, so the winner could really have come from anywhere," she said.
