Apply now for next year uni spots

UNIVERSITY applications for next year are now open through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

UAC handles applications for 17 participating institutions, mainly in NSW and the ACT, offering more than 1100 courses.

Last year more than 80,000 people applied for courses and UAC is expecting a similar number of applications for undergraduate study this year.

Potential students can submit one online application through www.uac.edu.au and choose up to nine course preferences.

On-time applications close on September 30, with final applications closing on February 3.

To help with the decision-making process, applicants can consult the UAC 2011 Guide or the companion website at www.uac.edu.au.

Both provide information on university courses and how to apply through UAC.

Most applicants will find out if their application is successful in the Main Round of offers, released by UAC on January 19.

This year UAC made more than 56,000 offers in the Main Round.
