Commentators and analysts are expecting the iPhone to come in two sizes, 4.7 inches (12cm) and 5.5 inches (14cm), although there is some hint they may not both be launched on the Tuesday.

CNET is reporting the company is asking manufacturers to build between 30% and 40% more iPhones by the end of this year, compared to its first run of its 5S and 5C series last year.

Meanwhile, French technology blog Nowhere Else has released new images of the iPhone 6, showing a shift of the "wake/sleep" button from the top to the side.

All other models had the button on the top.
