Workers return to the top five

LISMORE Workers has clawed its way back into the top five of Soccer FNC's Tursa Premier League, thanks to a 2-0 win over Bangalow at Bangalow on Monday night.

Goals from Lucas MacPherson and Damien Keevers lifted the Redmen into fourth place, but with other sides holding games in hand they could still miss out on the semis and must win their remaining match against Richmond Rovers on Saturday to consolidate their position.

Three other catch-up games were played last night (results will appear in tomorrow's Northern Star) and another is scheduled for tonight, with Rovers and Thistles playing the East Lismore derby at Oakes Oval from 8pm.

A win for Rovers would lift the minor premiers into third place, but Thistles have been steadily improving towards the end of the season and would like nothing better than to derail their arch-rival's semi-final plans.
