Vince?s sausages are simply divine

IT'S official ? Mullumbimby butcher Vince Devine is the region's sausage king.

The Australian Meat Industry Council has declared that the sausages cooked up by Vince and his shopmates were not just the best in town, but the best beef sangers between Sawtell and Tweed Heads.

Vince was also given top honours in the Continental Bratwurst section of the annual titles.

Later this month he's flying to Sydney for the state sausage showdown. A win there will put him in the national titles.

So what's Vince's secret?

His team. Locally-produced beef. And those proverbial secret spices.

"Our recipes are always a team effort," said Vince.

"We're creating all the time. We come up with an idea, have a big cook-up and declare the verdict.

"We've just come up with a new chicken and corn sausage."

This isn't the first time Devine's butchery has sizzled in sausage fame.

Last year they won the regionals and came fourth in the state.
