Trinity rowers? oarsome experience

THE Trinity Catholic College rowing squad travelled with Mr Rob Lynch and Mr Mark McMahon to Hinze Dam for the Gold Coast regional schools regatta.

The squad returned with three medals for first place and a mixture of seconds and thirds against strong competition from Somerset College, The Southport School, Rockhampton, Townsville and Bundaberg.

The composite crew of Hannah Green (Year 10, Trinity) and Saxon Ramon (Year 9, The Cathedral School, Maclean) were congratulated by former Lismore and Australian rower Islay Lee (now Rockhampton Grammar School principal) on their outstanding win in the Year 11 girls Division 1 double scull.

They outlasted his crew from Rockhampton, which had taken the silver medal in the Australian schools titles.
