Top motocross action on the way

AUSTRALIA'S premier natural terrain motocross series is coming to northern NSW over the next few moths, with the first event at Grafton on June 30 and July 1.

The series has been successful in the south of the State for the past eight years and although Clarence Valley bike clubs have hosted an event as part of the Southern Series over the past few years, this year South Grafton Ex-Servicemen's Motorcycle Club will host the first round of a Northern Series.

This is something new for the north of the State in that natural motocross is basically grass track motocross with the only obstacles and jumps being those that the landscape provides.

The series also has full national coverage from Dirt Action Magazine.

The two-day format is something different for local dirt bike riders, with everyone catered for juniors and parents on the Saturday and seniors on the Sunday.

In the Saturday program there is a teams pointscore for a parent and child, and on the Sunday there is an event for senior girl riders.

Two-stroke riders also have their own separate class to the four-stroke riders, while older competitors are split into 35-45 years and over 45 years divisions.

Being the first event on the northern calendar, the local club reserves the right to compact to a one-day event on the Sunday if numbers are not sufficient.

Riders wanting to compete should ensure entries are received at the club by tomorrow. Entry forms can be downloaded from www.sgemcc.com.au

Prospective riders who don't hold a competitor's licence should direct all inquiries to Sharon Mitchell on 0427-460464 or Narelle Rankin on 66425977.
