TODDLER KILLED

By DAWN COHEN

A TODDLER was killed at St Helena yesterday when her mother's vehicle went out of control on a notorious bend on the Pacific Highway.

The 30-year-old Grafton woman was travelling north about 10am when her Toyota Landcruiser skidded on to the wrong side of the road at the bottom of the St Helena hill.

The Landcruiser struck a south-bound Ford Falcon towing a caravan, rolling several times before coming to rest over an embankment.

The woman's two-year-old daughter was killed on impact, while she remained trapped in the vehicle until released by Byron Bay and Newrybar Rural Fire Service crew.
