Timeline - Death in the heart of the city
8.30am: One hundred SES volunteers and police begin searching grounds around Dawson and Uralba streets near the Lismore Tourist Caravan Park.
8.45am: Police and SES begin searching at the Police Citizens Youth Club in Dawson Street, checking the drain at Barry Davidson Oval.
9.30am: Police dog squad unit searches Uralba Street and surrounding area. The body of the woman was found at 10.30am.
10am: Police divers from Sydney in the Wilsons River searching the drain near the Lismore Police Station. The drain also runs under the Brown Street car park and Dawson Street.
10.45am: Police close a section of Uralba Street and Dawson Street for most of the day following the discovery of the woman's body.
1pm: Police divers search the drain running underneath Uralba Street, close to the crime scene.
