Swimmers qualify for national titles

FOUR members of Lismore Swim Team put in some great efforts at the NSW Championships.

Senior competitors Jessica Henshaw (14) and Jacob Power (15), both swam impressive personal best times that qualified them for several events at the 2005 National Championships.

Jessica came fourth in the finals of the 14-year girls 50m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke, while Jacob came ninth in the finals of the 15-year boys 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke.

Junior competitors Will Aitken (12) and Tanisha Walker (11) swam exceptionally well at their first State Championships.

Will was particularly thrilled to place sixth in the 12-year boys 100m breaststroke and 10th in the 200m breaststroke (knocking a massive six seconds from his personal best time).

All four swimmers, along with fellow Lismore Swim Team members Nadi Canning, Alex Mills and Alexandra Hahn, will be back on the blocks at the Sydney Aquatic Centre for the NSW Country Championships at the end of February.
