Primary School softball on agenda

FAR NORTH COAST Softball is inviting local primary schools to participate in an after-school competition during the first term.

The games would be played at Albert Park at 4.30pm with qualified umpires.

Games are expected to start in the next two weeks, culminating in finals in week 10.

The aim of this program is to teach young players (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) the basics of softball and prepare them for the PSSA round-robin, which will follow later in the school year.

The teams would be mixed gender and all students would be given experience in a variety of fielding positions. Schools can nominate whole teams or individual players. Teacher participation will be encouraged. Some equipment will need to be supplied by schools.

Inquiries to Suellen Pursche 0412 816 237.
