Police seek help on train death



POLICE are trying to piece together the moments leading up to the death of a man who died after being hit by a train at Casino.

Russell Jones, 58, was reported missing from Lismore on December 23. Around 9pm the same night he was struck by the train at Casino.

Police said Mr Jones was seen by neighbours the night before his disappearance.

He is described as being of white/European appearance, 170 175cm tall and of thin build with long shoulder-length brown hair and tattooed forearms.

He was last seen wearing a long black t-shirt, black tracksuit pants and joggers.

Anyone who saw Mr Jones travelling to Casino or gave him a lift should call police on 6662 0099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
