Police ask for help over two bashings

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to two bashings in Lismore on Saturday night.

Between 11 and 11.30pm a yellow Subaru Outback pulled up in Ballina Street, near the corner of Dawson Street, and three men got out.

One of the men approached a 17-year-old youth walking his bike home along Ballina Street with a friend.

He demanded the bike, then punched the youth in the face several times.

The attacker was about 18, of Aboriginal appearance, about 176cm tall, skinny, in a dark shirt and track pants.

At 11.30pm an 18-year-old man was assaulted and robbed by two men on the corner of Ballina Street and Wyrallah Road.

The attackers were about 18 and caucasian. One of the men had shoulder-length wavy brown or blond hair.

Police are keen to speak to a man and woman who are believed to have seen this attack.
