Pitcher the key in Byron Bay game

By TRISH CLAYDON

Amy played for Goon-ellabah last Saturday, even though she normally plays for Dodgers.

THE match of the day in the Northern Division of Far North Coast softball at Albert Park, Lismore, today is between Byron Bay and Workers Condors.

Byron Bay drew with Rous Rogues last weekend and have shown they can match it with the best.

Strong pitching by Shannon Knapp will be a key to the game.

Second-placed Workers are no pushover, and will rely on Kasey Renwick, Lauren McGowen and Bronwyn Gibson.

In the other game, Casino Ratpack will meet Dodger Devils.

Casino lost by three runs to Goonellabah Lotto last Saturday.

In Under-15s, top two Workers Crows and Goonellabah Wildcats will go head to head.

Goonellabah will rely on the pitching combination of Norton Bolt to Matthew Jones, and the expertise in the field of Casey Stephens and Jaimee Claydon.

Brendan Cole and Norton Bolt have been very reliable with the bat.

Workers will look to the experience of Matt Cramp at catcher, Dani McLean at first base, Kystal Green in the field and Karina Harvey with the bat.

n Christmas party at the grounds from 9.45am today for all junior teams.
