Photos released of partners in crime

DUMB and dumber US bank robbers Luke Carroll, 19, and Anthony Prince, 20, both of Byron Bay, were laughing and sneering after they robbed a bank in Vaile, Colorado.

They hid in a toilet cubicle at Denver International Airport and celebrated their heist by taking photos of each other with thousands of dollars of stolen cash.

The FBI last Friday released pictures of the pair holding stacks of money and making faces following the March robbery.

The partners in crime were sentenced to prison last month after pleading guilty to the crime.

Mr Carroll has been sentenced to five years in a US Federal prison and Anthony Prince to four-and-a-half years.

Both men had been working at a Vail ski shop prior to robbing the bank of $173,000.

They have been dubbed 'dumb and dumber' by the media because of the string of clues they left behind that led to their capture the next day.

It is not clear why the photos were released or who took them.

A news release said the FBI and Vail police would discuss the investigation on Tuesday.
