North Coast targets the finals



NORTH Coast takes on Hunter this morning for a berth in the semi-finals of the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association Rugby Championships.

The all-important clash is at Oakes Oval, Lismore from 8.45am.

North Coast began in fine form yesterday, registering a 48-0 win over North West in the morning and a 24-5 victory over Riverina in their second Pool A match.

The prestigious titles have brought together 13 teams, including combined Catholic teams Plding and Mackillop, as well as reigning champions Combined Independent Schools (CIS).

North Coast local representatives include: Ewan McQueen and Rowan Perry (Alstonville), Jake McIntyre and Caleb Binge (Wollongbar), Jack Pinchin (Wyrallah Rd), Winiatu Barrett and Jess Perry (Southern Cross) and Bradley Hoffman and Shawn Gill (Casino West).

A State team will be named tomorrow.

Pool A: CIS d Riverina 40-0, CIS 12 d North West 0, North Coast 48 d North West 0, North Coast 24 d Riverina 5.

Pool C: Sydney West d Mackillop 26-12, Sydney West 5 drew South Coast 5, South Coast 41 d Mackillop 12.

Pool B: Sydney North 43 d Sydney South West 0, Hunter 32 d Sydney South West 5, Sydney North 46 d Hunter 0.

Pool D: Sydney East 15 d Polding 10, Polding 34 d Western 0, Sydney East 39 d Western 0.
