Netball semi Daley double

DALEYS confirmed their favouritism to retain the Lismore Netball Association premiership division major title with a solid win over sister club Daleys Tribes on Saturday.Daleys, comprising some of Lismore's most experienced players, proved too good for their younger Tribes opponents, taking the major semi-final 37-26 after leading 19-12 at half-time.

Acting captain-coach Cath Edmonds, playing wing defence, was among the standouts for Daleys, while defender Lucy Burke put in a solid effort for Tribes.

In a hard-fought elimination semi-final, Rous 2 downed the youthful All Saints 32-29. Experience again told, with shooter Pauline Ianna and defender Trudy Sheavils giving Rous the edge. Centre Makara Jacky tried hard for the All Saints, whose season has now ended.

Rous now face Daleys Tribes in a do-or-die final clash next Saturday.

In Dvision Two, Woodlawn Herrons secured a grand final berth with a 36-30 win over Workers Purple.

Next week's Division Two final will be an all-Workers affair, after Workers Gold ended the Random Rats' season, downing the Southern Cross University side 36-26 in the elimination semi-final.
