NC girls face the city?s best



NORTH Coast finished with a loss and a draw after yesterday's first round of the NSW Combined High Schools' Girls Soccer Championships in Sydney.

North Coast lost 3-1 to Sydney North before a hard-fought 2-all draw with Sydney West.

The strong metropolitan combinations are among the tournament favourites.

Today, North Coast plays Riverina in the morning match and Western during the afternoon.

Ten teams from throughout New South Wales are contesting the championships.

The semi-finals and finals are scheduled for tomorrow.

The North Coast team involves high school players from Taree to the Queensland border.
