Nationwide driver interest
DRIVERS from all over Australia have nominated for tomorrow night's Bartercard Lismore Speedway meeting.
The Quantum Racing Industries NSW V8 Dirt Modified Championship field includes former Australian champion and current Victorian champion Tim Morse.
Tim Morse's presence at Lismore will be felt by the entire field, and his clash with the likes of Stuart Herne, an in-form Luke Oldfield and the dominant Mark Robinson, is much anticipated.
"It's good to get Morsey up here. You know that he won't settle for second, and that's why we have had many memorable moments while racing at Lismore," Herne said.
"We had pretty bad weekends at the Australian and the Victorian titles, so this race really has to happen for us."
Mark Robinson was confident: "Tim has been brought back a peg or two since the Australian title. Even though he got us at the Victorian titles, it will be a different story once we get him at Lismore."
He was referring to the Victorian titles last weekend when Morse won by the narrowest of margins from Robinson.
Held over 30 laps, the winner of this prestigious event will wear 'NSW 1' on his V8 Dirt Modified for the following season.
Support classes on the night are impressive, including Production Cars, AMCAs, Club Sedans, Stockers, Streeters, four-cylinders and Juniors.
The production cars, in particular, have an impressive nomination list as teams prepare for their own Australian title to be held in Lismore during the Easter weekend.
Tomorrow night the gates at Lismore Bartercard Speedway open at 3pm with the racing from 6pm.
