Motorcyclist killed in 4WD collision

By HANNAH ROSS hannah.ross@northernstar.com A MOTORCYCLIST is dead and another rider is in a serious condition in Lismore Base Hospital after the bike on which they were travelling crashed into a 4WD on Myocum Road, near Mullumbimby, yesterday.

The accident occurred 300 metres south of the Tyagarah Road junction at about 4.30pm.

It is believed the driver of the 4WD was taken to Byron Bay Hospital with minor injuries.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was called to the scene to transport the injured rider. A paramedic with the recue service said the accident happened near a crest in the road in dry conditions.

The Northern Star was unable to confirm details of the accident last night as police were still at the scene.
