Meet Lismore's new shogirl

LISMORE'S Rebecca Chappell upheld a longstanding family tradition last night when she was named the North Coast National's Miss Showgirl 2007 at Lismore Showground.

Having grown up on a dairy farm near Coraki, Miss Chappell remembers her aunties entering showgirl competitions and she wanted to follow in their stead.

I have formed friendships with the other girls and we've had lots of fun," Miss Chappell said.

I love rural life and the agricultural industry and participating as a Showgirl was a way to support that.

I am delighted and hope to carry on and represent the North Coast at the Sydney Royal East Show."
