Man, 24, charged over Lismore stabbing



A SOUTH GUNDURIMBA man has been charged with the attempted murder of an 18-year-old man at a Union Street, Lismore, workplace about 8.10am yesterday.

The 24-year-old was arrested outside the Lismore Police Station at 8.20am and later charged with wounding with intent to murder.

He appeared in the Lismore Local Court yesterday.

The victim, a Lismore Heights man, was treated at the scene for numerous stab wounds before being taken to Lismore Base Hospital, where he is in a serious but stable condition after undergoing surgery. A knife was seized by police.

Lismore police would like to speak with anyone who saw a man carrying a knife in Union Street between 8.10am and 8.30am.
