Lismore to hold 10-race greyhound meeting on New Years Day

GREYHOUND racing returns to Coleman's Point, Lismore on New Year's Day.

After last week's recess due to Christmas, a full 10-race program will begin at 6.40pm.

Featured on the program will be a Free For All 520m race. This includes last start Lismore winner Cerruti, trained by Shane Robinson, with the black dog running 30.17s for the 520m journey.

A Free For All 420m race will also be held with Too Many Kisses from the Beverly Debono kennels looking to improve on her four wins and eight places from 14 starts.

The winner of both races will win $1000. Maiden races covering both 420m and 520m distances and six well contested fifth grade races over 520m and 420m will also be held.

Looking further ahead, Lismore Greyhound track is in the final stages of installing new starting boxes from a distance of 635m.

It is hoped the work will be completed this week.
