Leg waxing is too much for Michael

MR BEEF hopeful Michael Newby was planning to wax his legs before the judging.

But after some of the girls from work came round and did his chest, he decided it was just too painful.

"I've got a huge rash on my chest now," he said.

"I don't know how you women put up with it."

His other plan to wear a G-string was also foiled, after a trip to the Lismore sex shop yielded nothing in his size. So now he's making do with a pair of chaps, which he hopes will give him the edge on Saturday.

Kenny Woodhams, who's the instigator of the competition, said they had 14 confirmed contestants but he expected 20 on the day.

"It's the talk of the town," he said.

"The boys who entered it for fun originally, now they really want to win it. They can taste it. People are actually introducing themselves as a possible Mr Beef."

Kenny said in the event of a tie, they would settle it with a dance-off.

"That's something men usually have trouble with," he said.
