Kulu races in great Spirit

KULU SPIRIT returned to the winners’ circle when he scored a game win in the Sidney and Hacking Stake (635m) at the Lismore greyhounds on Tuesday night.

Kulu Spirit has been plagued by injuries in recent months but showed the new 635m distance was to his liking when he led from the winning post the first time to cross the line first in a time of 37.61s.

He had five lengths to spare over Fast Dream with Miss Cherie third, seven-and-a-quarter lengths away.

The rising four-year-old has been a great money spinner for connections.

The win on Tuesday night was his 19th and took his stake earnings to a healthy $54,000.

Manifold Public School conducted a fundraiser at the race meeting and a good crowd attended despite the rain.
