Joel tunes up with a return performance

By PAUL ATTEWELL

THERE were no strings attached when Joel Gregory made a guest appearance for his old Lismore club in Far North Coast LJ Hooker League cricket on Saturday.

Gregory has completed a degree at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane.

He plays the double bass and this year moved to Sydney, where he is trying to break into the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Gregory, 23, was back in town on holidays visiting his family.

Although he has played little cricket since leaving four years ago, he turned out for Eastern Districts against Lennox Head at Nesbitt Park, South Lismore.

Unfortunately his bowling wasn't quite as well tuned as his music, with his eight overs going for 38 runs in the one-day match, won by Lennox Head in an upset.
