Hundreds bid gabriel farewell
NEARLY 300 people gathered at St Carthage's Cathedral in Lismore yesterday to say goodbye to an innocent.
Five-year-old Gabriel McBurney was killed last week when a sliding steel gate at Trinity Catholic College Lismore's Brunswick Street driveway entrance fell on him.
Yesterday, a stunned school community, along with relatives who travelled from across the globe and friends, said goodbye to Gabriel at a 'Mass of the Angels' ? a funeral service reserved for children under five who had been baptised and deemed to be without sin.
