Health summit: It?s on

By Zoe Satherley

Health Minister John Hatzistergos has finally given a date for the health crisis meeting.

He has promised to meet a delegation of medical and community members on Friday, September 2, at 3.30pm.

Member for Ballina, Don Page, who organised the meeting, will attend along with member for Lismore, Thomas George, Lismore mayor Merv King, and a community and a medical representative.

The delegation wants to convince the Minister to launch a plan that would end the North Coast Area Health Service's $30 million funding shortfall.

They want the Minister to put a plan in action to progressively address the massive underfunding and fast-track the $100-million redevelopment of Lismore Base Hospital.
