Happiness goes under the hammer in Ballina
By MARY MANN
AFTER a serious accident, Desley Taylor's son needed extensive physiotherapy at Ballina District Hospital.
So providing a new outfit as part of an indulgence package to be auctioned off on Paradise FM today is her way of giving something back.
The pamper package also includes a pair of shoes, flowers, a massage and a night away for two, and will raise funds for the Ballina Shire Healthy Community Futures Fund. The fund, currently at $116,969, needs to raise $150,000 to buy digital X-Ray equipment for the Ballina District Hospital.
Ms Taylor, owner of clothing store Chez Maree, said the auction was a good chance to do something nice for yourself while helping the community.
Representatives from the busi- nesses donating to the package will attend a 'bidding lunch' today at Alstonville's House With No Steps, where $10 from each meal will go to the fund.
Tune into the auction from 9am on Paradise FM, 101.9FM. To place your bid call 6686 0101.
The Northern Star is an official media sponsor of the fund.
