Final promises plenty

By JOHN SCHOLTEN

THE final of the Southside Agencies Big Maiden 420m should be a great race at the Lismore greyhounds tonight.

The Matthew Reid-trained Command Prince was the fastest qualifier with an eye-catching 24.16 win (sectional 9.89) and has drawn box two in the final. Command Prince improved sharply on his qualifying win time of 24.67 secs.

St Rocket scored impressively for Jim Galloway in his semi, handling the awkward five alley with aplomb to win easily in 24.25 with a sectional time of 9.85 secs.

St Rocket has been especially set for this race and box eight should suit with two moderate beginners drawn inside him.

Dance Ona Dime overcame a poor start and trouble in running to take out his semi-final in 24.68 secs and the Roger Green-trained sprinter has a big future ahead of him, but box seven and his average box manners over tonight's 420 metres scamper will be against him.

A huge night of entertainment for the whole family is planned, with stockings for the kids from Santa, jumping castle, face painting and a $500 gift voucher to be won by one lucky lucky patron.
