BRISBANE Fiji walked away with the prizemoney after they defeated the Palm Beach Currumbin Alligators 36-14 in the final of the 15th annual Tooheys Railway Friendly Bar Byron Bay Rugby Sevens yesterday.

The Brisbane Fiji team, made up mainly of Brisbane first grade players, has been coming regularly to the Byron Sevens tournament.

In the A-grade women's final, the Steyne Stylers from Sydney defeated West Harbour 19-5 in the game of the tournament.

In B-grade, the Kariong Wanderers defeated the Bond Pirates 36-12 in the men's final, while the women's final was won by the Pink Monastery 25-5 against Easts Chicks.

The Pink Monastery, nicknamed the Nuns, played all of their games in full regalia, including veils.

The C-grade men's final was won by the Wynnum Bugs 54-0 over the Cook Islands, while the X-Rats ? Lismore's Southern Cross University Old Boys ? won the D-grade final 26-24.
