Elyssa spells out model dream

By JOSIE SARGENT

TEACHING and modelling don't often go hand-in-hand, but Goonellabah's Elyssa May hopes to do just that.

The 21-year-old has entered FHM's annual Girl Next Door covergirl competition and has been selected in the Top 100, appearing in the latest edition.

The 100 girls were chosen from more than 1000 entrants, and readers can vote for their favourite girl by sending an SMS.

From the votes, the top seven finalists will be selected and flown to a photo shoot for an upcoming edition of FHM Magazine.

"It would be my first proper photo shoot and I would love to do it," Elyssa said.

"Modelling is something I've always wanted to do, but I've never had the courage to do it before.

"My boyfriend encouraged me to enter, so we got my camera and I got into my bikini and we took some shots in front of the curtains."

Elyssa is studying a dual degree at Southern Cross University, in Arts and Secondary Education.

Originally from Orange, she is already surrounded by teachers ? her parents are teachers and her boyfriend has just graduated as a PE teacher.

"My ultimate career is still teaching, because I had a hard time at high school and would like to be able to help other kids in a similar situation," Elyssa said.
