Decision tomorrow night on disputed NRRRL game

THE Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League management committee will meet tomorrow night to decide what becomes of the game which wasn't.

The Mullumbimby Giants and Byron Bay Red Devils were due to meet last weekend in the Retravision Northern League, but the clubs couldn't come to an agreement on when to play the match.

The NRRRL will decide whether Byron will be forced to forfeit the match, handing Mullum the two competition points, or whether the match will be deferred to a mid-week game later in the season.

The management committee decision will be binding ? neither club will be able to appeal.

Mullumbimby's Tony Parker is on the committee, but he will not have a vote.

The situation arose when Byron Bay refused a Mullumbimby request to play on Saturday night. The Red Devils said they had 16 players unavailable.

The timing of Mullum's request, and Byron Bay's rejection, will be the major factor in the NRRRL's decision. ? Adrian Miller
