Croquet titles on line

The Northern Rivers Croquet Championships run all next week at the Lismore Croquet Club.

Clubs from Alstonville, Ballina, Byron Bay, Casino, Kyogle and Lismore will be represented.

Spectator interest should centre on Wednesday, when the district's top-ranked players do battle.

Australian championships runner-up Max Donati, from Byron Bay, will be back to defend his Northern Rivers title.

Meanwhile, Lismore's Robyn Stock was runner-up in the ladies plate at the national titles and flew to New Zealand where she took out the South Island Doubles.

Also expected to figure next week is the Lismore duo of Dick and Lesley Smith, pictured, who performed well in the recent Darling Downs tournament.
